It's time to bake the bunnies! The individual portions are perfect for Easter brunch, and the kids can practice for the next season of Master Chef Jr. by helping you in the kitchen. They'll love punching the dough and putting the tails onto Peter Cottontail.
But wait- There's More! Click 'Read More' to get the full scoop...         ↓↓↓
Ingredients:
Frozen Bread Dough [or make your own from scratch]
Kitchen Shears
Floured Cutting Board
Greased Baking Sheet
Sprinkles [optional]
Butter
Do what you need to do to get the dough ready to form bunny shapes- that includes defrosting- covering with saran wrap- waiting for it to rise- punching it down- waiting as it rises agin-punching it down, you get the drill...

After going through the routine, grab a cutting board and sprinkle it with flour; this is so the dough doesn't stick to the surface- because it will! With your hands, form the dough into a ball shape. The dough will double in size as it rises... again. Place the dough into a greased bowl, cover with saran wrap. Again. Let rise for 40-60 minutes.

Divide the dough into two. On the floured board, roll one ball of dough into an 8" circle until it is flat and looks like a pizza. With the shears, cut six triangles that resemble slices of pizza. Select four pieces and snip off a piece of dough to create the tails. Shape the four wedges into ovals by pulling the edges under and pinching them together; this is the bunny's body. Press the tails onto the body. Place the ovals onto a greased baking sheet.

Now take the rest of the triangular slices [2] and cut them in half again. Ta-Da! Now you have four. Next, cut into the smallest point of the triangle, down about two inches- you want to keep the bottom of the triangle in tact- do not cut through the entire triangle. Awesome- you've created the head and ears!

Affix each of the bunny heads onto a corresponding bunny body by placing the ears onto the top of the body. Now repeat the entire process using the other ball of dough sitting in the bowl. Once you're finished- allow the bread to rise. Again.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Once they've risen for half an hour, pop them in the oven and bake for 10 minutes, then cover with foil to prevent burning those floppy ears! Bake for an additional 7-10 minutes, depending on your oven. Serve with butter.
Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down onto your table! This is a great tradition to start as part of your modern Easter spread, and a creative take on the classic dinner roll. Believe me, your little bunny rabbits will request this bunny bread year after year.

*Rockstar Tip* Scour the pantry for sprinkles that can pass for eyes and a nose. You can even use whiskers out of rosemary, but let me tell you that I've tried that and they look like deranged catfish. But it could just be me, so- go for it if the mood strikes!
