Chinese New Year is a festival of great importance in China and in other countries that have large Chinese populations. It is a traditional holiday celebrated annually to mark the beginning of a new year. Each year correlates with a different animal. 2015 marks the "Year of the Sheep". The occasion is celebrated in a variety of ways, such as spending time with friends and family.
My favorite way to commemorate the event is to catch the Dragon Dance at the DIA. The program is part of the museum’s Family Sundays. This annual tradition takes place in the main hall. The dance is performed by talented members of the Asian Martial Arts Studio.
