Once a year, the Opera House opens its doors to children and their families, so they get a glimpse into the inner workings of the theatre.
Visitors will get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the dressing rooms, rehearsal studio and costume shop- including the wig and make-up area.
Learn what it takes to pull off a stage production. Stand on the main stage and listen to the Michigan Opera Theatre Choir, who will be giving a performance during the tour. Walk under the sparkling chandeliers in the Grand Lobby, then climb up the staircase and get a bird’s eye view of the layout.
There’s also complimentary face painting, a photo booth. crafts to make and ice cream to eat. Parking is available in the adjacent parking garage and is free to attendees.
