I don't enjoy spending hours outside in the cold anymore, especially surrounded by snow. But I still love igloos. So yesterday, as the snow fell outside, we had an awesome time making an igloo inside.

Bag of miniature marshmallows
One giant marshmallow
Cake Mix [any flavor]
White Frosting
[1] Six inch cake pan
Cupcake Pan [or whatever they are called]
Toothpicks
Blue Rock Candy [optional]
Dump cake out of pan onto a platter. Put some toothpicks into the center of the cake, then drop one cupcake on top of the cake; the toothpicks should go through the bottom of the cupcake. This just keeps it stationary.
Frost everything. Start building the igloo using marshmallows as blocks of ice. After everything is covered with marshmallows, spread some frosting onto the large marshmallow and place it against the bottom of the igloo. This is the entrance. Now cover it in mini-marshmallows.
Decorate using chunks of rock candy as icebergs. You could even dust the icy scene with a snow shower of powdered sugar to recreate a blizzard.
Almost all ages groups could get involved in this activity. This is an awesome idea for playdates because kids really need minimal guidance with this. Just make the cupcakes in advance and set out everything kids need to make it themselves.
*RockStar Tip* Admire the finished product for a while, then use the marshmallows for hot chocolate.
