We made sure to have lots of desserts for the girls to munch on- cupcakes, brownies fashioned after sweetheart candies, ombre rice krispie treats-- and a signature drink my daughter created especially for the occasion. We offered a variety of tea sandwiches, including cucumber with a dill dressing, egg salad, tuna and peanut butter and marshmallow fluff, all cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
Decorations were simple. I grabbed some balloons and anchored them to the table, cut a bouquet down to pint-size so the girls could see over the flowers to chat, added strings of pink, white and red lights and created a swag using beads leftover from the holidays. I also found a stash of heart ornaments which looked excellent scattered around the mantle--- and Voila!
Can't wait to see them again for the next one!
