My 4-year old has been asking to go to the Ford Rouge Tour since last year. We finally went and it was beyond cool! We had so much fun. The Ford Rouge Factory Tour allows visitors to discover the history of the automobile in an engaging way.

Through a first-hand experience, learn how vehicles are manufactured in the factory and on the assembly line. It was really Amazing with a capital ‘A.’ It was a move at your own pace kinda tour, and you could linger and watch human workers and robots piece together a car on the assembly line. We loved seeing a robotic arm and laser attach the front and back windshield onto an automobile. My daughter was even able to ask tour guides questions she had about the process. They happily explained things to her and answered her questions in detail.
Watch a fully immersive film that is more like a rock show. The floor rumbles, there’s a laser show and sparks fly as a car is created right before your eyes. This was the highlight of our experience and one of our favorite parts of the tour. Check out the ‘view from the top’ of the “green” roof, a sustainable rooftop garden made from plants.
Another highlight is the bird’s eye view of the plant floor. It’s a pretty unique vantage point that really gives visitors an overall sense of the magnitude of such a large-scale operation.
